TWICE, BLACKPINK, ITZY, & More, The Only K-Pop Girl Groups To Chart On ‘Billboard 200’

Being able to chart on Billboard's "Billboard 200" is a feat any K-pop group would be honored to reach. Internationally acclaimed Billboard created the "Billboard 200" chart to rank the most popular albums in the United States every week. 

Due to this, being able to chart on the "Billboard 200" signifies the overseas popularity of a K-pop group. As of writing this article, only 6 K-pop girl groups have gone on to chart on  Billboard's "Billboard 200."

Here is a complete list of K-pop girl groups who made it in the "Billboard 200" as of writing this article:

#6 YG Entertainment's 2NE1

YG Entertainment's 2NE1 was able to enter the "Billboard 200" chart with their 2014 album entitled "Crush." The album went on to peak at the #61 spot.

#5 Blockberry Creative's LOONA

LOONA is the 1st fourth-generation female K-pop group to enter the "Billboard 200" chart. LOONA's "12:00" was able to peak at #112 on the chart.

#4 SM Entertainment's Girls' Generation (also known as SNSD)

Girls' Generation's (aka SNSD) made their debut on the "Billboard 200" chart with their 2014 album, "Mr.Mr.," which peaked at #110. Additionally, SNSD's first subunit, "Girls' Generation-TTS" had an album entitled "Twinkle" that peaked on the "Billboard 200" chart at #126.

#3 JYP Entertainment's ITZY

Another 4th generation K-pop girl group was able to debut on the "Billboard 200." JYP Entertainment's ITZY's most recent album, "GUESS WHO," entered the "Billboard 200" chart topping at the #148 spot.

#2 JYP Entertainment's TWICE

JYP Entertainment's TWICE was able to have two albums enter the "Billboard 200" chart in 2020 with "More & More" and "Eyes Wide Open", peaking respectively at #200 back in June. and #72.

#1 YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK

YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK debuted on the "Billboard 200" chart with "Square Up" which peaked at #40. The 2nd time BLACKPINK entered the chart was with "Kill This Love," topping at the #24 spot. Additionally, BLACKPINK's "The Album" peaked at the #2 spot and even stayed on the chart for 26 weeks.
