Not long ago, it was stated that the female K-pop group, Apink, had their contracts expiring and are due for renewal once again. Unfortunately, while the other 5 members of Apink have made their mind to stay with Play M, Apink's Son Naeun has decidedly parted with the agency.

A representative from Play M reported the following:

"Recently, the 5 members of Apink, Park Chorong, Yoon Bomi, Jung Eunji, Kim Namjoo and Oh Hayoung have decided to renew their contracts. We will be supporting them actively and without holding back, such that they can actively promote. After deep discussions between the company, the other members and Son Naeun, Son Naeun will not be renewing her contract in order for her to chase her new dreams. We respect her decision and sincerely cheer her on as she goes forth on her new path."

On the bright side, Play M Entertainment went on to share that regardless, Apink will still contain 6 members regardless of what happened. Through the years of being together, Play M Entertainment's Apink has made strong bonds with each other.

Due to this, Play M Entertainment will ensure a fair, equal, and flexible schedule for Son Naeun so that she can still participate in future promos of Apink.

Moreover, Son Naeun is not retiring or taking a hiatus. Recent reports from Ilgan Sports state Son Naeun has been in talks with YG Entertainment. The two have contacted one another even at the start of April.

Since then, YG Entertainment has dropped an official statement with regards to the rumors on Son Naeun.

On the 29th of April, a speaker representing YG Entertainment told news outlet Sports DongA that the agency was in positive talks with Son Naeun with regards to an exclusive contract.

This seems to be a good move for Son Naeun as her sister, Son Sae Eun, is also under YG Entertainment via their subsidiary YG Sports.
