4th Gen Gems: JYP Entertainment’s ITZY Unstoppable, Achieves Another Breakthrough With ‘Wannabe’
JYP Entertainment's ITZY is currently one of the most well-known rising female K-pop groups in the industry. Making their debut back in 2019, this year marks their two years of being active.
The quintet consists of Yeji, Lia, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna, and individually, they have a unique set of vocals and visuals to keep garnering support from their fanbase, also known as MIDZYs. Additionally, their style, endorsed as being "different," is also a reason why fans are fascinated by the girl group.
Almost all of their main songs have reached certain popularity. But recently, one of the music videos of their hottest tracks has reached a certain milestone.
Dropping on the 9th of March on YouTube and one of ITZY's greatest hits at this point in their career and their third main song titled "Wannabe," reaches over 300 million views on YouTube.
The music video reached this breakthrough on the 30th of March. Currently, as of writing this article, the music video has made it to 302 million views, 4.2 million likes, and 269 thousand comments.
Additionally, ITZY's iconic 'shoulder dance' came from this release.
ITZY's song "Wannabe" is their first song to have reached 300 million views on YouTube. The song came from their second mini-album, "IT'z ME."
The next song expected to hit 300 million views is "DALLA DALLA," as it is currently their second most viewed music video with 252 million views.
Since their debut, the girls have released a total of six albums; two single albums, three mini-albums, and one English-only album containing English versions of their most popular songs. Recently, the teaser for their upcoming comeback album this April entitled "GUESS WHO" dropped on the 22nd of March.
Their comeback is expected to be another hit once again and hopefully will send ITZY into an even more successful trajectory.
Congratulations to ITZY for hitting another milestone!
