After a series of bullying allegations, the Korean entertainment industry faces yet another scandal.

Recently, the Korean drama "Joseon Exorcist" faced backlash for alleged distortion of history and "favoritism toward China's Northeast History Project." Petitions for the drama to stop airing have reached South Korea's Blue House, and since then, SBS has announced that the controversial drama "Joseon Exorcist" will be canceled after airing just two episodes.

Aside from the SBS drama "Joseon Exorcist," other historical dramas such as the recently concluded "Mr. Queen" are also facing the same criticism from netizens.

Because of the current controversy surrounding "Mr. Queen," the actors involved are also facing some serious backlash from the Korean public. In particular, "Mr. Queen" lead actress Shin Hye Sun has become the subject of public criticism for stating that she would have lived in regret if she did not accept the project after reading the script. Netizens continue to slam the actress for pursuing the drama "Mr. Queen" despite it being adapted from an author who has made negative comments about South Korea.

The backlash against the actress went further after a mask brand, We Must M, announced that they had chosen Shin Hye Sun as their newest official brand ambassador for her bright image that suits their brand well. Since the announcement, netizens have been flooding the mask brand's home page with their disapproval for their choice of model.

Because of this, We Must M revealed that there had been internal discussions with regards to the issue.

On March 26th, however, mask brand We Must M stood firm with their decision to sign an exclusive model contract with the "Mr. Queen" actress. In a report by SPOTV News, the company revealed that they decided to continue the contract with Shin Hye Sun, explaining that the controversy about history distortion was a "problem of the writers of the drama and not of the actors."
