Hot Update: BLACKPINK Rosé’s Solo Just Got A Release Date
YG Entertainment's internationally acclaimed K-pop girl group, BLACKPINK, has been active since its debut in 2016. The members are Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa, and currently, BLACKPINK is one of the top South Korean girl groups in the world, almost being a household name.
Since back in 2016, they've been collecting accolades and reaching records. This is the case for individual awards and as a group. Just recently this month, BLACKPINK broke a record on YouTube for their music video, which garnered 1.5 billion views. Additionally, BLACKPINK was also nominated this year in the Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards along with another internationally acclaimed K-pop group, BTS.
Moreover, in recent events, Jennie and Lisa were noted to be the highest subscribed individual female idols on YouTube. Jennie being number 1, and Lisa number 2.
With that being said, just last year, BLACKPINK released "The Album," their most recent group album, which was released in October. This album almost immediately got a huge amount of sales and awards.
But aside from their group releases, the members of BLACKPINK are also making advances with their solo careers. Back in 2018, BLACKPINK's main rapper and lead vocalist, Jennie, released her song "Solo." The song was considered a success, and it was announced shortly that the other two members, Rosé and Lisa, were set to release their solos this year, in 2021.
With that being said, we finally have a date for Rosé's most anticipated solo debut.
As of writing this article, just yesterday, at midnight at Korean Standard time, BLACKPINK Rosé's solo debut teaser poster with the date was dropped on BLACKPINK's social media account. It said that within ten days, the world would be graced by her debut on March 12.
BLINKs all over the world will be able to mark their calendars as this is one of the most highly awaited solo debuts in a while.
