'What's Wrong With Secretary Kim' Actor Park Seo Joon In Talks To Lead Star New JTBC K-Drama
Fans of Korean actor Park Seo Joon might watch him again on TV when the negotiation for his role in the new JTBC drama go smoothly. The actor is currently in talks to star in the drama, titled Itaewon Class.
It's been eight months since Park starred in tvN's What's Wrong With Secretary Kim alongside Park Min Young. Clearly, his fans have been missing his charming personality on screen.
The actor's agency Awesome ENT has confirmed that Park has received an offer to star in Itaewon Class. However, it added that is only one of the projects that the Midnight Runner actor is considering right now.
Itaewon Class is based on a popular webtoon of the same title. It is about a man, Park Sae Roy, who goes through hardships after the death of his father, who was the head of a large conglomerate in the foodservice industry. After his father died, he opens a food business in Itaewon. The drama will be directed by Love In The Moonlight director Kim Sung Yoon.
Park Seo Joon is one of the most sought-after Korean actors today. He has recently received the Rising Star Award from the 13th Asian Film Awards. The Fight For My Way actor was also praised for his generous donation for the victims of the recent Gangwon Province wildfire.
Park will be seen next in the upcoming occult movie The Divine Fury. It is slated to premiere in July.
In the film, Park plays the role of Yong Hoo, a champion fighter who joins forces with a priest and exorcist from the Vatican, Father Ahn (Ahn Sung Ki). Together, they will embark on a dangerous fight against powerful evil forces that unleash chaos on Earth.
The Divine Fury is Park's movie comeback after his hit action comedy film Midnight Runners in 2017. It is also his reunion project with director Jason Kim who helmed the Midnight Runners. The Divine Fury is also a reunion for Park and Choi Woo Shik who both appeared in K-drama Fight for My Way.
Park rose to fame for his roles in K-dramas such as Kill Me, Heal Me and She Was Pretty which were both released in 2015. He has received and won several awards for his excellent portrayals of different characters in both small and big screens.
