Lee Seung Gi made a successful transition from living a military life and resuming his career as an entertainer and actor. Recently, the Produce 48 emcee shared some of his plans, including preparations for his new role in the upcoming drama Vagabond.

Nearly one year after Lee Seung Gi completed his mandatory military service, the South Korean star already participated in several projects that included the fantasy series A Korean Odyssey. He also became a cast member in the SBS reality variety show All the Butlers, also known as Master in the House. Recently, YoonA's former boyfriend joined the K-pop reality series Produce 48 as its main host.

Lee Seung Gi will soon make his drama comeback in the spy action drama Vagabond. In a recent interview with The Straits Times, the 2 Days 1 Night alum commented on how his new role is different from his previous dramas. Describing his character in the upcoming series as a "gangster," the actor revealed some of his preparations that included an intense exercise regimen, martial arts training and regular practice sessions at an action school for stuntmen.

Having been in the South Korean entertainment industry for more than a decade, Lee Seung Gi even shared his plans for the future. Suzy's Vagabond co-star admitted that he would like to focus his energy on enhancing his current abilities and positive traits as he pursues his path in becoming a successful actor and singer. The balladeer made the revelation in an interview with Channel News Asia where he also talked about his learnings from his mandatory military service.

Highlighting the importance of having the right mindset to face new challenges, Lee Seung Gi revealed that being a soldier helped him to adjust his way of thinking. The actor explained, "I learned that one's mentality can influence how they react to physical obstacles. There were many instances when I thought: 'If I have to do any more of this, I might die.' But I didn't."

In Vagabond, Lee Seung Gi will portray the role of the stuntman Cha Gun who uncovered a big conspiracy following a plane crash that claimed his nephew's life. Suzy will portray the female lead Go Hae Ri, a national service agent who became involved in covert spy operations.

Lee Seung Gi and Suzy's upcoming series Vagabond is expected to premiere in the latter part of 2018. The drama will be aired in South Korea via SBS and will also be released simultaneously in select U.S. and Japan channels.
