Suzy, Lee Seung Gi Team Up For Upcoming ‘Vagabond’ Drama, Former ‘Gu Family Book’ Co-Stars To Mimic ‘Bond’-Like Roles
Die-hard Suzy and Lee Seung Gi fans will soon see the two South Korean celebrities in a new drama project. The former Gu Family Book co-stars have been confirmed to play the leads in the upcoming drama Vagabond.
Vagabond will serve as the first reunion project that Suzy and Lee Seung Gi will star in after headlining the fantasy historical series Gu Family Book. Released in 2013, the Miss A alum played the role of a martial arts instructor in the said drama, while the A Korean Odyssey actor portrayed a divine creature who wanted to be a man.
In the upcoming Vagabond drama, Lee Seung Gi will portray Cha Gun, a stuntman who mastered several forms of martial arts. The actor's character will become involved in investigating a mysterious airplane crash, only to discover that corruption and an unexpected conspiracy were behind the incident.
Suzy will play the role of Go Hae Ri who entered the National Intelligence Service following the death of her father. To support her family, the then naïve newbie wanted to become a Level 7 civil servant but eventually worked as a secret agent for the agency. Avid fans can expect to see the While You Were Sleeping actress tap into her inner-Bond to portray her new role.
Aside from Suzy and Lee Seung Gi, the upcoming drama Vagabond will also feature Shin Sung Rok. Known for his roles in the dramas Return, Man Who Dies to Live, My Love From the Star, and more, the actor will play the character Ki Tae Woong in the upcoming SBS production. The said character holds a Team Leader position in the National Intelligence Service.
Meanwhile, the upcoming SBS drama Vagabond will mark Suzy's first drama project for 2018. The actress last appeared in the small screens opposite Lee Jong Suk in the 2017 production While You Were Sleeping.
Apart from the said drama, avid fans of the Miss A alum can also look forward to seeing the singer-turned-actress in several fan meeting events. Suzy is set to travel to Bangkok on June 24 for a meet-and-greet session with Thai fans before returning to Seoul for her fan meeting scheduled on July 7. The K-pop star also visited Taipei and Hongkong on May 12 and May 26, respectively, to hold similar fan events.
Vagabond is expected to premiere in the second half of 2018. Suzy and Lee Seung Gi's upcoming drama is also slated to air in Japan and the US.
