G-Dragon's 'Kwon Ji Yong' Solo Album Sells 200,000 On Pre-Order, Reaches Double Platinum Status Before Release
G-Dragon's upcoming solo comeback album "Kwon Ji Yong" has reached double platinum status even before its release. Based on pre-orders for the album on China's QQ Music, the BIG BANG leader's album has reached 200,000 in sales for the album.
Based on the tracking of the album sales, G-Dragon's Kwon Ji Yong already surpassed 80,000 orders from the music site as of 12 pm on June 5. This meant that the album already reached Triple Gold Record within a few hours of release on the site.
As of 1:40 pm of the same day, G-Dragon's Kwon Ji Yong already reached 100,000 in sales, reaching Platinum status. As of June 6 at 9:54 am, the album has sold over 200,000 copies making it a certified Double Platinum album for the BIG BANG leader, an amazing feat considering the album is set for release tomorrow, June 8. Aside from teaser images, YG has also not yet released clips from the title track, proving the fans' faith in G-Dragon's talent as an artist.
It can be recalled that G-Dragon teased the title track for his album entitled "Bullsh*t" and also another track entitled "Dam*It," shich already got fans excited about his solo comeback. Aside from his solo album, G-Dragon will also embark on a 19-city world tour "Act III: MOTTE" starting June 10, Korea Portal reported.
It comes as no surprise that BIG BANG's fandom called VIP, as well as G-Dragon's legion of fans have almost sold out G-Dragon's "Kwon Ji Yong" on pre-order. When tickets were released for G-Dragon's "Act III: MOTTE" concert at the 65,000 seater Seoul World Cup Stadium, tickets quickly sold out in less than eight minutes. Nike's Air Vapormax Line which featured G-Dragon as brand ambassador for its "Kiss My Airs" campaign sold out online in under a minute.
