Lee Min Ho, Park Shin Hye Named America’s Favorite South Korean Celebrities
Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye are just two of the South Korean celebrities who gained a huge fan base in several countries across the world. Recently, the "Heirs" drama couple were named the favorite Hallyu stars in America.
Min Ho and Shin Hye topped a survey conducted by the U.S. arm of the Korea Creative Content Agency. After running a two-week online study posted on several K-drama streaming websites, the said organization came up with the top 5 actors, actresses and South Korean TV series in America, Soompi reported.
Respondents chose the "Legend of the Blue Sea" star as their top South Korean actor, followed by Lee Joon Gi and Lee Jong Suk. Song Joong Ki nabbed the fourth spot, while "Healer" star Ji Chang Wook landed at number five.
For the South Korean actress category, survey respondents picked the "Doctors" star as their number one female celebrity. Following Shin Hye are Gong Hyo Jin, IU, Song Hye Kyo and the "She Was Pretty" star Hwang Jung Eum.
Meanwhile, the global hit KBS series "Descendant of the Sun" nabbed the top spot on the said survey's favorite K-dramas in America. Landing at number two is the historical drama "Scarlet Heart: Ryeo," with "W - Two Worlds" at number three, followed by "Cinderella and Four Knights" and "Oh My Venus."
In other news, Min Ho and Shin Hye last starred together in the romance drama "Heirs" that was released in 2013. Recently, avid K-drama fans saw Shin Hye in the medical series "Doctors" while Min Ho was one of the protagonists in the mermaid series "Legend of the Blue Sea."
The said drama even garnered impressive double-digit TV ratings during its 20-episode run. The series finale also posted nationwide viewership shares of 17.9 percent, according to Nielsen Korea, as cited by Yonhap News.
"Legend of the Blue Sea" released its final episode on Jan. 25, Wednesday, on SBS.
