To the delight of netizens and K-pop fans, SM Entertainment just achieved a very important milestone for the year 2021!

K-pop fans of SM Town recently jumped for joy as SM Entertainment went on to report that their total number of album sales went beyond 17 million copies for the year 2021. This shows how successful artists from SM Entertainment were in the previous year.

As per the recent report, SM Entertainment went on to drop 25 albums last year, and they were able to garner 15.043 million copies in terms of sales. The label then added the previous album sales (albums that were released prior to 2021) of 2.578 million copies.

After doing the math, SM Entertainment went on to report that they sold a total of 17.62 million copies in album sales as of the 31st of December, 2021. The previous year was truly the year of SM as their K-pop artists made a huge dent in terms of profit and innovation.

The numbers that SM Entertainment shows show that their current sales were nearly double the number of sales from 2020. SM Entertainment has been producing global K-pop artists for 26 years now, and they do not seem to be slowing down, which is evident in their album sales.

SM Entertainment K-pop artists NCTEXO, and EXO's Baekhyun went on to earn the million-seller titles, and they also had all 25 albums released by SM Entertainment rank on Gaon's yearly Top 100 Albums chart.

Both 2020 and 2021 have been extraordinary years for SM Entertainment, and 2022 seems to be another spectacular year as the K-pop agency plans on further expanding its reach.
