APRIL

Previously in February, a netizen who was supposedly Lee Hyunjoo's brother went on to upload a post online entitled "Lee Hyunjoo's bullying." The post quickly went viral, and netizens became aware of Lee Hyunjoo being abused by her former April members and her agency.

A couple of months later, Lee Hyunjoo went on to confirm the bullying allegations noting that she was abused before their 2014 debut all the way to 2016 when she left April.

Notably, her current agency, DSP Media, and APRIL members have firmly denied the aforementioned accusations. Recent updates on the status have led up to DSP Media announcing that they will directly sue Lee Hyunjoo.

As of writing this article, two days ago, on the 8th of June, DSP Media announced that not only will they appeal the lawsuit they initially filed against Lee Hyunjoo's former classmate, but also directly sue the former April member, herself.

Not long ago, the police went on to reject DSP Media's lawsuit against the possible former classmate of Lee Hyunjoo. The lawsuit was due to the fact that the former classmate of Hyunjoo went on to add to the allegations towards DSP Media and the April members.

But evidently, the court rejected DSP Media's lawsuit.

Ahead of their rejected lawsuit, DSP Media released an official statement, noting that the agency will appeal to the court to find someone responsible for the damage they have caused to the image of the agency and the members of April.

DSP Media announced,

"The ex-classmate (A) heard the allegations from Lee Hyunjoo directly, as well as through the dozens of articles that were making headlines at the time. 'A' was able to upload posts based off of the provided articles and spread more false information. We decided to appeal because we believe 'A' was the one responsible for spreading the false information and there is no proof that the content of 'A's' posts are true. The appeal is currently in progress.

In order to further identify the person responsible for the spread of false information, we have also decided to file a lawsuit against the person directly involved (Lee Hyunjoo) with the hopes that an investigation will be conducted."
