For the new "Deadpool" movie news, a new actor for Colossus has been announced by 20th Century Fox, according to ComingSoon.net.
"Deadpool" is a new movie that features the Marvel character named Deadpool. He is a mercenary that had cancer and wanted to get healed through a medical trial operation. This turned out to be a secret experiment where he got mutant powers that render him immortal. The only problem was the cancer cells were affected by his powers and this gave Deadpool a scarred body which is always deteriorating.
Today, 20th Century Fox has released information about the new Colossus. The new actor for the Marvel character this time is Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic, according to Comic Book.com. He will be replacing Andre Tricoteux in the role. Tricoteux actually was the original actor that was slated to take over the role of Colossus from Daniel Cudmore. Cudmore took on the role of the Russian mutant in three X-Men films, but now he has declined to take on the role for "Deadpool."
Also on the "Deadpool" movie news, Tim Miller, the director of the movie, has explained why he chose Kapicic to take on the role of Colossus, according to Cosmic Book News. Kapicic explained that Miller wanted his Colossus to be "bigger and stronger than everyone else." The film needed a man that is extremely tall.
"I'm 6-foot-4, but he wanted Colossus to be over 7 feet, so they used a stunt double to recreate his height, and he did very good job there," said Kapicic.
Miller also wanted the Colossus to sound as close as possible to the comic book character's background. This is the reason why Kapicic was taken in for the role of Colossus. He had an authentic Russian accent and that is what Miller envisioned for the character.
Also on the "Deadpool" movie news, the movie is set for release on Feb. 12, 2016.
