‘Shenmue 3’ Kickstarter Update Reveal Story Chapters Included; Other Details Also Explained!
"Shenmue 3" Kickstarter update has revealed story chapters that will be included in the game, according to PC Gamer.
"Shenmue 3" is the third iteration of the "Shenmue" gaming franchise. It is an upcoming open-world video game directed by Yu Suzuki and developed by his own company, Ys Net. The game will be published by Sony Computer Entertainment. The story follows a teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki in his journey to find the murderer of his father in China during the 80s. It is scheduled for release on Dec. 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and the PC.
The latest update of the "Shenmue 3" Kickstarter campaign features the story chapters that are included in the game. The game will have Chapter 5 as the beginning of the story and will move on to Chapter 6, explained Suzuki in his address at the CHUAPPX Expo in China.
"The story has been written to align with this structure; and the planning for the game elements that will go along with the story has been completed," said Suzuki. "This project was conceived to be scalable, since the game would necessarily need to be adjusted based on the Kickstarter."
The game's systems have already been planned out just like the script, according to PC Games N. The basic systems have already been put in place, explained Suzuki. They are also now testing the destruction feature and the environmental interactivity effects.
The game director has also revealed that there is a returning character of the game franchise which is Ine-san. Ine-san is the housekeeper that many fans are familiar with from "Shenmue I," according to Eurogamer.net.
He has also said that development today is easier compared to 15 years ago. Suzuki explained that game development today has assets already available and anyone can create prototypes without a programmer.
"Shenmue 3" broke Kickstarter's funding records for a video game as soon as it was announced at the E3 event this year.
