Actor Song Joong Ki Shares The Struggles He Faced During His First Major Acting Role

Just recently, Song Joong Ki sat down with some of his fellow actors to talk about their journey in the acting industry.

Regarding Song Joong Ki's debut, the actor revealed it was not easy starting his profile. The popular actor revealed that he was getting small roles as extras himself because he did not even have an agency at the time.

More specifically, Song Joong Ki noted that the first role that he was credited for was actually possible due to his senior at college. Though it was small, Song Joong Ki explained its importance as it was the first time he was given a role with one complete line.

But after arriving at the set for the first time, the actor shared his surprise at the scale of the program, even revealing that veteran star Sung Dong Il was in front of him. Though it was a huge moment for Song Joong Ki, the actor shared that he was completely excited.

But Song Joong Ki's lack of experience and rookie status in the industry brought problems with the other cast members, especially with actors who played the other two reporters. 

"I was some nobody cast for the role of reporter three, and the cast for reporter one and two dragged me to the corner while they were setting up for shooting," Song Joong Ki expressed.

The other actors were thinking about why this was the case, and whether it was due to Song Joong Ki's experience or if he was just a newbie. The actor expressed that they asked him how he had got the role, given that Song Joong Ki was inexperienced at the time.

It was not until after the filming that the reasons behind the other actors' actions became clear. Song Joong Ki noted that he was still a young actor and did not realize the scale of the project he had worked on.

"I didn't know why they were asking that. But then I realized later on that competition is fierce in that world. I got lucky, and I got the 'Okay' sign. It felt cathartic when I first said the line," Song Joong Ki shared.

This shows that like most people, actor Song Joong Ki had to start from somewhere and this humbling experience gave the actor an amazing leg in the entertainment industry.
