A Grand Entrance: ‘Queendom 2’ Premiere Achieves Higher Ratings Than Mnet’s ‘Queendom 1’ & ‘Kingdom’!
Netizens and K-pop fans gather in the masses as Mnet's "Queendom 2" begins with a resounding success!
On the 31st of March, the second season of "Queendom," Mnet's popular K-pop idol competition program, broadcasted its highly-anticipated premiere. Although expected to be a success, the number of viewers of the premiere had gone on to surpass the first season and "Kingdom."
Mnet's "Queendom 2," which is hosted by Girls' Generation's very own Taeyeon and Lee Yong Jin, has VIVIZ, LOONA, WJSN, Brave Girls, Kep1er, and Hyolyn as the queens who are slated to battle it out to see who will reign supreme.
As per recent reports, Mnet's "Queendom 2" went on to premiere to higher viewership ratings compared to both the 1st season of "Queendom" and the program's male version, "Kingdom: Legendary War."
Notably, the first episode of Mnet's "Queendom 2" was able to garner an average nationwide rating of 0.8% while the first season of "Queendom" premiered with a nationwide average of 0.5%, and "Kingdom" premiered with a nationwide average of 0.3&.
Adding to this, Mnet's "Queendom 2" also went on to top last week's list of the most buzzworthy non-drama TV shows. Given that the survival program had not even premiered yet, it shows how much netizens and K-pop fans love "Queendom."
To make international K-pop fans excited, the first episode of Mnet's "Queendom 2" will soon be made available with English subtitles on the American video streaming website, Viki.
