AB6IX Woojin Is The Most Recent K-Pop Idol To Test Positive Of COVID-19
AB6IX member Park Woojin has been confirmed with COVID-19.
Brand New Music, the management company of AB6IX's Woojin, announced on the group's fan cafe that the former WANNA ONE rapper has tested positive for COVID-19.
"Park Woojin was diagnosed with Corona 19 this morning as a result of the PCR test conducted on the 15th," Brand New Music announced.
Park Woojin has completed his booster shot of the COVID-19 vaccine and currently has no symptoms other than a mild sore throat. Currently, Woojin is undergoing home quarantine in accordance with the guidelines of the quarantine authorities.
The other members of AB6IX including Jeon Woong, Kim Donghyun, and Lee Daehwi as well as all the staff also underwent PCR testing and were negative.
Brand New Music also added that the remaining member of AB6IX will be closely monitored despite testing negative.
As the number of daily confirmed cases has recently approached 100,000 in South Korea, the number of confirmed cases is also increasing in the K-Pop industry.
Many other idols including ITZY's Chaeryeong, Lia, and Yeji as well as BTOB's Eunkwang and ATEEZ's San have also tested positive for COVID-19. Not only idols but celebrities such as Lee Seung Gi have also been infected by the virus.
