Chaeryeong Is The Third ITZY Member To Test Positive Of COVID-19 After Lia And Yeji
ITZY's Chaeryeong was diagnosed with COVID-19.
JYP Entertainment, ITZY Chaeryeong's agency, said on the 16th, "Chaeryeong tested positive for COVID-19 this afternoon."
The agency shared that Chaeryeong was in self-quarantine after receiving a negative result in a preemptive PCR test on the morning of the 12th. Then the ITZY member underwent a self-diagnosis kit test on the 15 which showed a positive result.
Due to the positive self-diagnose kit result, ITZY's Chaeryeong immediately underwent another PCR test which also returned positive.
"On the morning of February 15, Chaeryeong underwent a self-diagnosis kit test, which showed a positive result. Immediately afterward, she underwent a PCR test, and as of February 16, her results have returned positive," JYP Entertainment shared.
JYP Entertainment also shared that the ITZY main dancer has completed her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Additionally, the agency revealed that ITZY's Chaeryeong is currently experiencing minor symptoms.
"Currently, Chaeryeong has completed her second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and is currently experiencing minor symptoms such as a cough and a headache," JYP Entertainment said.
Furthermore, JYP Entertainment shared that the idol will be treated at home, while in quarantine, according to the guidelines provided by healthcare authorities.
"We will do our best to focus on treatment and recovery, considering the artist's health is our top priority," JYP Entertainment assured fans.
Meanwhile, Chaeryeong is the third confirmed COVID-19 case in her team after Lia tested positive on the 13th and Yeji on the 14th.
