In one uploaded video, aespa's Karina and Giselle answered a question regarding which songs are the best to perform for SM Entertainment's global audition. The question went: "Is there a song that will immediately get you accepted if you perform it?"
Notably, aespa's Karina named two songs that aspiring K-pop trainees should sing. The aespa leader shared that she saw this happen a lot when she was just a trainee.
The songs aespa's Karina recommended are both from Girls' Generation's (SNSD) Taeyeon. The first song being "U R" and the 2nd song being "Gravity." Karina noted that they are hard to perform and if trainees sing the songs well, 'it's a free pass to join SM Entertainment'.
Girls' Generation's Taeyeon's "U R" was released in October 2015 as a b-sidetrack for her debut extended play entitled "I." The SNSD member's "Gravity" was released in October 2019 as a b-sidetrack in the K-pop idol's second studio album, "Purpose."
Hearing this, aespa's Giselle agreed with Karina's choices. Though the rapper also recommended aespa's "Next Level" and "Savage." Both songs were released last year as "Next Level" dropped in May while "Savage" was released in October.
Both songs from aespa feature high notes from both Winter and Ningning, and powerful raps from Karina and Giselle, making this a perfect song to sing for those who want to show they have what it takes to be K-pop idols!
