Popularity is not everything in the K-pop industry as there are a myriad of K-pop artists that are immensely talented and unique but are severely underrated. Though it is not important, the amount of fame K-pop groups and soloists get globally shows how much they are appreciated.

Just recently to the delight of some netizens and K-pop fans, The Ministry of Culture, Sport, and Tourism dropped their results for their most recent survey. The Government survey asked voters to pick the most popular K-pop artists around the world.
Notably, a total of 4,679 people from 18 countries went on to participate in the government run survey. Although a lot of immensely popular K-pop artists made the list, there are quite some names that made the list quite surprising.
