Somi Reveals Why She Chose The Black Label Over JYP Entertainment As A K-Pop Soloist!
Jeon Somi has gone so far in her career and her Som-taengs and Som-mungchis, the name of her fandom, have adamantly shown support towards the K-pop soloist!
At present, Somi is a solo artist under The Black Label, and the K-pop idol recently shared the reason why she joined the agency for the progression of her solo career instead of remaining with her previous label, JYP Entertainment.

Jeon Somi was recently featured in an interview with Elle Singapore and the K-pop soloist talked about The Black Label, her career, and many more!
Somi initially gained attention as an immensely popular trainee from JYP Entertainment. Later on, she debuted as a member of project K-pop girl group I.O.I. Her K-pop girl group went on to gain acclaim but only lasted a very short while.
The K-pop soloist then ultimately chose to pursue a career as a soloist and she shared that Teddy, the founder of The Black Label, had personally reached out to Somi to recruit and ask her if she was interested in joining his agency.
Somi revealed that she was extremely excited at the offer to join the same agency that debuted some of her favorite K-pop artists such as 2NE1 and Big Bang as The Black Label is an associate company of YG Entertainment
"Then Producer Teddy called me to come to THEBLACKLABEL, and I couldn't believe it. I had been a fan of his because I had listened to Big Bang and 2NE1 growing up," Jeon Somi revealed.

The K-pop idol then went on to share that it was Teddy's persuasive skills, his sincerity, and passionate ideas for her career as a soloist that finally convinced Somi to be a part of YG Entertainment.
Jeon Somi further added, "When I met him, he had so much passion in explaining all the opportunities he saw in me. I felt sincerity through his eyes, and knew I could trust my future with his direction. I can say with certainty that it was the best decision I've made in my life thus far."
Somi has never looked back as her career as K-pop soloist has seen immense success under The Black Label!
