Notable female K-pop artists Park Bom, AOA, MAMAMOO, Lovelyz, Oh My Girl and (G)I-DLE were the participants of the first season of Mnet's "Queendom."
Due to the popularity of the program, Mnet went on to release spin-offs to "Queendom." Them being "Road to Kingdom" and "Kingdom: Legendary War" but this time with male K-pop artists.
Not long ago, Mnet went on to confirm that "Queendom" would come back for a season 2, to the delight of K-pop netizens and fans!
Notably, Mnet's "Kingdom: Legendary War" was hosted by TVXQ's Changmin and it seems as though another SM Entertainment will host "Queendom 2"!
On the 25th of January, the production team of the 2nd season for "Queendom" shared, "After making her successful debut in 2007 through the global girl group Girls' Generation, Taeyeon became a musician who has kept her position as a top solo artist for 16 years in the music industry while being known as a reliable vocal queen with her diverse and rich musical world."
It was added that Girls' Generation's Taeyeon is a representative musician who leads global K-pop, and she has a wide range of music fans locally and internationally.
Beyond that, as a role model that junior K-pop girl groups want to emulate, they anticipate that Taeyeon will provide a diverse role beyond just that of the MC of "Queendom 2."
With Girls' Generation's Taeyeon confirmed as the MC, Mnet's "Queendom 2" is slated to begin filming in February!
