Pride Of Korea: BTS & ‘Squid Game’ Took Home Awards At The People’s Choice Awards!
South Korea won big at this year's People's Choice Awards!
To the delight of netizens and fans, both BTS and Netflix's "Squid Game" took home wins at the People's Choice Awards.
Notably, the People's Choice Awards 2021 occurred on the 7th of November. For this year, BTS took home a total of three awards; "The Song of 2021" with their hit song "Butter," "The Music Video of 2021" with their hit track "Butter," and "The Group of 2021" award.
The seven-member K-pop boy group took home the aforementioned awards after being pitted against a myriad of popular western artists such as Maroon 5, Coldplay, Dan + Shay, Jonas Brothers, and more.
Notably, HYBE's BTS thanked their fans (known as ARMYs) as they expressed, "We are very happy because all of these awards mean that many people have recognized our efforts. We are so grateful that it is hard to express it in words. We were able to come this far because ARMY was right behind us."
BTS further showed their gratitude by thanking fans for showing so much love towards "Butter." With their hit song, BTS wanted to give joy to people who were going through difficult times, and they surely did, as the amount of fame it garnered was truly a lot.
Beyond this, 2021's hit Netflix drama "Squid Game" was able to win "The Bingeworthy Show of 2021" award.
