Former IZ*ONE Member Choi Yena Faces Sponsorship Scandal With CJ Group Chairman!
Yuehua Entertainment, former IZ*ONE member Choi Yena's agency, has denied the rumors regarding Yena and a CJ Group chairman.
On the 1st of December, Yuehua Entertainment released its stance on allegations regarding Choi Yena's issue. Yuehua Entertainment noted that they are 'aware of the misinformation, malicious accusations, and slanderous comments that are being distributed online'.
Not long ago, media outlets reported that conglomerate Lee Jae Hwan was accused of sponsoring a former female idol known as 'Ms. A'.
Reports point toward screenshot photos of text message conversations between CJ Group's CEO, Lee Jae Hwan, and Ms. A were released. As per the photos, Lee Jae Hwan went on to request for the CEO to take care of Ms. A's music and YouTube activities.
Most sponsorships in the Korean entertainment industry involve a rich backer who uses their wealth to buy a celebrity's popularity. Notably, while most do this without asking anything in return, it is assumed that others request 'sexual favors' to repay their 'generosity.'
Notably, no names were mentioned in the report, but netizens have assumed Choi Yena as Ms. A due to her multiple fixed appearances in variety shows.
Not long after her debut with IZ*ONE in 2018, Yena made appearances on "Prison Life of Fools," "Girls High School Mystery Class," "Idol Dictation Contest," "Fireworks Handsome," "Game Of Blood," and many more in a span of a couple of years.
But with the rumors beginning to make headlines, Yuehua Entertainment has gone on to deny the allegations and, at the same time, gearing up to take legal actions towards the malicious comments.
