Former IZ*ONE’s Choi Yena Postpones Her Solo Debut, Here’s Why
Despite being considered as one of the most successful fourth-generation K-Pop girl groups, IZ*ONE had to say goodbye to fans as their contract with Off The Record Entertainment ended.
The girl group had a successful three-year run but the agencies of each of the IZ*ONE members failed to come into an agreement for the group's relaunching.
A CJ ENM representative announced the sad news to WIZ*ONEs in July.
Shortly after IZ*ONE disbandment, the group's leader Kwon Eunbi made her successful solo debut with "Door." Meanwhile, iZ*ONE's main dancer Lee Chaeyeon joined Mnet's "Street Woman Fighter."
Reports also point out that Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chaewon are in discussion to join HYBE's upcoming girl group. Most recently, IZ*ONE's main vocalist Yuri announced she is gearing up for her upcoming solo debut with "Glassy" on October 7.
With some IZ*ONE members starting their solo careers, WIZ*ONEs are eager to see who is next.
Sadly, however, fans need to wait for Choi Yena's solo debut even longer.
In an exclusive report, Star News revealed that Choi Yena has delayed her solo debut until the first half of next year. Previously, Choi Yena was reported to be preparing for her solo debut that is supposedly scheduled for the second half of this year.
The postponement of Choi Yena's solo album is due to Yuehua's plan to launch a new boy group within the last quarter of this year. Yuehua is about to debut a new boy group "TEMPEST" which will be joined by Hyeongseop and Uiwoong.
Additionally, Yuehua Entertainment's girl group EVERGLOW is also scheduled to release a new album this year.
Currently, Choi Yena is collecting songs to prepare for her solo debut album.
