Mnet's "Street Woman Fighter" has had a plethora of memorable participants and among one of the most loved by fans is former IZ*ONE member Lee Chaeyeon

Notably, Lee Chaeyeon is the only K-Pop idol on the program and although she faced adversity such as hate from other dancers and extreme criticism, she still did her best in her performances with her group, the WANT dance crew.

Just recently, Lee Chaeyeon was featured in an interview where she was asked why she chose to be a part of Mnet's "Street Woman Fighter". Similar to the dancer Aiki who also had no plans in being part of the show, Chaeyeon revealed that she was reluctant in joining the show after they contacted her to be a participant.

"If I'm being honest, I struggled to find the courage to compete on the show in the beginning. So I thought about it a lot, and I even rejected the offer once," Lee Chaeyeon noted.

But Chaeyeon thought about it, she actually started to have the determination to compete on Mnet's "Street Woman Fighter". She believed that Street Woman Fighter could be a turning point for her life.

But the doubt that Lee Chaeyeon initially succumbed to always impacted her mentally.

"I had a lot of regrets. I thought to myself, 'Am I allowed to be here?' all the time. It was such an honor to be able to compete with such talented dancers, but I developed a bit of trauma after competing in so many battles in the first episode. It was especially hard for me because I felt bad for my unnies," Lee Chaeyeon revealed.

Now that her stint on Mnet's "Street Woman Fighter" has ended, Lee Chaeyeon has earned a new sense of respect from fans and professional dancers outside of K-pop as although she initially had a lot of hardships in the show, she powered through them.

Lee Chaeyeon had a mission to change the prejudice against K-pop idol dancers compared to professional dancers.

At the end of the day, may it be from K-pop or professional ways, dancing will always be a passion people can share with one another and Lee Chaeyeon proved this.
