Son Ye Jin And Kang Ha Neul To Star Alongside Youn Yuh Jung In A New Drama?
Industry insiders revealed the possibility of Son Ye Jin and Kang Ha Neul starring alongside Oscar-winning actress Youn Yuh Jung in an upcoming drama.
According to reports, the three A-list actors have been offered to star in the drama "Trees Die on Their Feet."
Such reports were confirmed by "Minari" star Youn Yuh Jung's agency Hook Entertainment. In a statement, a representative from Hook Entertainment commented, "Youn Yuj Jung has received an offer to star in the drama ['Trees Die on Their Feet']. She is currently reviewing the offer."
Meanwhile, "Crash Landing On You" lead actress Son Ye Jin's agency MSTeam Entertainment commented that nothing has been decided yet.
"Son Ye Jin was offered a role for the new drama 'Trees Die on Their Fee' and has only received the script. Nothing has been decided yet," MSTeam Entertainment shared.
The agency of "When the Camellia Blooms" actor Kang Ha Neul also released a statement regarding the reports.
"Kang Ha Neul has received the script for the drama," Kang Ha Neul's agency TH company shared.
Should Youn Yuh Jung accept the offer to star in the drama "Tree Die on Their Feet," she will give life to the character of Ja Geum Soon, an elderly woman born in North Korea. She escapes to South Korea during the war and establishes a hotel chain named Hotel Nakwon.
Son Ye Jin is offered to take on the role of Se Yeon who is Geum Soon's granddaughter. She is in charge of running Hotel Nakwon.
On the other hand, Kang Ha Neul is in talks to portray the role of Jae Hoon. He is an unknown theatre actor who acts as the grandson of Geum Soon to fulfill her wish.
As of the writing of this article, the casting for the drama "Trees Die on Their Feet" is yet to be finalized. However, filming is scheduled to begin in early next year while the drama is set to premiere within the second half of 2022.
