Among the sea of K-Dramas slated for the second half of 2021, two are gaining attention for their male lead stars. Get to know the K-Drama kings who are returning to the small screen very soon.
Gong Yoo
Yes, you have read it right! The "Goblin" himself is making his highly anticipated K-Drama come back very soon.
After almost 5 years of K-Drama drought from Gong Yoo, fans will be able to witness the return of the 42-year-old actor with the Netflix original series "The Silent Sea." According to reports, Gong Yoo will be portraying the role of Han Yoon Jae who is a soldier for a space agency.
Gong Yoo's character Ha Yoon Jae is selected to be part of a team tasked to travel to the moon in order to retrieve a mysterious sample from an abandoned research station.
Starring alongside Gong Yoo for "The Silent Sea" are Bae Doo Na, Lee Joon, Heo Sung Tae, Lee Moo Saeng, and Jung Soon Won. "The Silent Sea" is set to premiere on Netflix in the second half of 2021.
Meanwhile, Gong Yoo is also set to appear for a guest role on the drama "Squid Game."
Park Hyung Sik
A-list actor Park Hyung Sik was officially discharged from the military last January 4, 2021, and since then, all eyes are on the "Strong Woman Do Bong Soon" star's return to the small screen.
Good news to fans, as the "Suits" actor is making his K-Drama comeback with "Happiness" within the second half of the year.
Starring alongside Han Hyo Joo and Jo Woo Jin, Hyung Sik is cast to portray the role of Jung Yi Hyun who is a violent crimes detective. "Happiness" will be an action-thriller drama set in a time in which "infectious diseases have become the new normal."
Aside from starring in tvN's "Happiness," Park Hyung Sik is also cast to lead the drama "Youth, Climb the Barrier."
