Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon Make’s A Jaw-Dropping Comeback With ‘Weekend’

So-Ones (the fandom name of Girls' Generation, also known as SNSD) were previously given a happy surprise as Girls' Generation's Taeyeon was confirmed to make her return as a full-fledged vocalist.

Last month, on the 16th of June, it was reported that the leader of Girls' Generation, Taeyeon, had finished recording for a new musical release. It was announced that Girls' Generation's Taeyeon will be getting ready to drop her latest musical release within the coming months.

An insider from SM Entertainment went on to report to media outlets that Taeyeon would release a new song in July.

Notably, Taeyeon's upcoming musical release will be her first solo comeback in eight months since the release of her fourth mini-album entitled "What Do I Call You" which was dropped previously in December of 2020.

Since the announcement, So-Ones and Taeyeon's personal fans have been highly anticipating the return of their favorite K-pop idol and now, after a lengthy wait, Girls' Generation's Taeyeon has finally made her triumphant comeback!

As of writing this article, yesterday on the 6th of July, the leader and main vocalist of Girls' Generation has dropped her new single entitled "Weekend" alongside its music video on SM Entertainment's official YouTube.

Currently, the music video for Taeyeon's "Weekend" has reached 1,744,319 views, 316k likes, and 24,576 comments.

Taeyeon's "Weekend" is a single which has a fusion of the disco and pop genre. The song makes listeners feel that it is already the 'weekend' even if they are listening during the weekdays.

Beyond that, the music video for Taeyeon's "Weekend" is extremely colorful, vividly fun, and full of the charm and bubbliness Taeyeon is famous for.
