SHINee is one of the most popular 2nd generation K-pop groups to date. Currently having four members consisting of Onew, Key, Minho, and Taemin, SM Entertainment's SHINee is one of the legendary and most respected K-pop groups in the industry.
Among SHINee's hit songs are "Lucifer," "Replay," and "Ring Ding Dong."
Recently, as per reports from news media, a member of SHINee has lost a very close family member, which in turn shocked the K-pop industry due to the sudden news.
SHINee's main rapper and visual, Minho, went on to debut in the K-pop industry as one of the members of SHINee 13 years ago on the 25th of May, 2008 under one of the original "Big 3" agencies, SM Entertainment.
Notably, SHINee's Minho was previously confirmed to make a special appearance on tvN's upcoming K-drama entitled "Yumi's Cells."
Ahead of this successful news, SHINee's Minho was greeted with an unfortunate event.
As of writing this article, yesterday on the 21st of June, SM Entertainment has gone on to announce that SHINee's Minho lost his grandfather on the 20th of June. The SHINee member is currently mourning at the mortuary, and SM Entertainment is planning on adjusting Minho's scheduled activities.
The funeral service for Minho's grandfather is currently taking place at Sun Medical Center in Daejeon, and the funeral procession will happen on the 22nd of June.
Losing a family member is never an easy ordeal. The members of SHINee have been through a lot and at this point in their careers can be labeled as one of the strongest groups in K-pop. Regardless, the pain that Minho might feel right now is extremely heavy.
Shawols, the fandom name of SHINee, alongside Minho's personal fans, will surely show their love and support for the K-pop idol in the upcoming days.
We offer our deepest condolences to SHINee's Minho and his family.
