STAYC Is The Only Rookie In May Top 10 K-Pop Girl Groups
Every month, the Korean Business Research Institute releases a list of the most popular among all active K-pop girl groups. They measure the reputation index of domestic brands every month and announces the amount of change in the brand reputation index.
To consolidate a list, the Korean Business Research Institute looked into media attraction, community indexes, and consumer participation of girl groups from April 9 - May 9. In total, the Korean Business Research Institute analyzed 30,596,886 brand data for the month of May but compared to the April data volume; it decreased by 21.46%.
For the month of May, Brave Girls took the top spot once again with a 3,711,562 brand reputation index. Meanwhile, YG Entertainment's BLACKPINK is at a close second with a 3,521,993 brand reputation index. OH MY GIRL places third with a total of 1,920,338 brand reputation index.
JYP Entertainment's TWICE is coming back this June, and because of this, K-Pop's best-selling girl group placed fourth with a total of 1,882,766 brand reputation index.
For the first time in their career, rookie K-pop girl group STAYC entered the top 10 at number 5. The STAYC brand is analyzed to have a total reputation index of 1,658,272, a 216.07% increase from their APRIL index. Such an astonishing increase in STAYC's index can be attributed to their very successful comeback with "ASAP." The High Up Entertainment girl group composed of Sumin, Sieun, Isa, Seeun, Yoon, and J and backing them is the hit producer duo Black Eyed Pilsung.
Here are the May 2021 top 30 girl groups based on brand reputation according to the Korean Business Research Institute.
