Bruno Mars Confirms Second Song With Rosé: "We're Trying to Figure Out When"
Bruno Mars just dropped a bombshell for fans of his chart-topping collaboration with BLACKPINK's Rosé. The Grammy-winning artist confirmed he and Rosé recorded another track together that hasn't been released yet-and they're actively discussing when to drop it.
"Oh yeah, there is," Mars told Billboard in their December 11 cover story when asked about unreleased material. "And we love that song that we worked on. I won't say the title... We're just trying to figure out when, or how."
The news comes as their October 2024 single "APT." continues making history across global charts and award shows.
How Their Partnership Started
Rosé met Mars at his Los Angeles studio in summer 2024 while working on her debut solo album rosie. The BLACKPINK member approached the session with intensity, uncertain if she'd ever get another chance to work with the pop icon.
"I was trying to get the most out of the meeting because I thought it'd be our last-first and last meeting, forever," Rosé explained. "So I was hustling information from him."
Mars remembered her immediate drive. "She was hustling information from him," he recalled with a laugh, describing how Rosé soaked up every piece of advice she could get.
Their creative chemistry went beyond "APT." Mars also co-wrote and co-produced "Number One Girl," the opening track on rosie. Rosé credited him with being "a big cheerleader for me at a very crucial moment" when she faced challenges she couldn't solve alone.
"APT." Becomes a Global Phenomenon
What started as Rosé teaching her collaborators a Korean drinking game became 2025's biggest global hit. The song debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 2024, eventually peaking at No. 3-the highest position ever for a K-pop female artist.
The track dominated international charts, spending 12 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Global 200 and 19 weeks atop the Global Excl. US chart. It reached one billion Spotify streams in exactly 100 days, the second-fastest song in platform history.
Mars explained what drew him to the collaboration: "I was like, 'It's about drinking? You got me.' But truthfully, it was Rosie's voice, it was her saying this hook that just had this magic to it. And I thought it was beautiful that it was from her culture."
Breaking Records and Making History
"APT." earned Rosé multiple historic achievements. In September 2025, she became the first K-pop artist to win Song of the Year at the MTV Video Music Awards, surpassing even BTS who had been nominated but never won the category.
The song later secured three Grammy nominations-Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance-marking the first time a K-pop artist received nominations in the Big Four Grammy categories as a lead artist. The 68th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony takes place February 1, 2026 in Los Angeles.
Billboard's 2025 year-end charts placed "APT." at No. 9 on the Hot 100, making Rosé the first K-pop act to crack the top 10 of any year-end Hot 100 chart in history.
What Comes Next
While fans eagerly await the mystery second collaboration, both artists remain focused on their current success. Rosé describes their working relationship as sibling-like, with Mars serving as a mentor figure who taught her to trust her creative instincts.
"Bruno showed me that, as a creative, you have to listen to your intuition and your timing, and you're allowed to trust in it," Rosé told The Cut in February.
The question now is when-and how-they'll release the track they "love" that's been waiting in the vault. Based on what "APT." achieved, expectations couldn't be higher.
