BTS Is The Only Korean Artist In Rolling Stone's 'The 50 Best Albums Of 2020'
The year is almost over, but the world's favorite K-pop boy group, BTS, is far from done from achieving various milestones for 2020!
The boys have made headlines once again as Rolling Stone drops the list for 'The 50 Best Albums of 2020.' As expected, BTS managed to take a spot.
It came as no surprise to most fans, but what made the achievement remarkable is that BTS was the only Korean artist to have made it in this year's list.
The American magazine dropped its annual list on December 4, and BTS's 'Map of the Soul: 7' managed to take the No. 16 spot.
The music magazine praised BTS, saying that even though the group debuted seven years ago, it still seemed that they just started to shine.
According to Rob Sheffield of Rolling Stone, "The South Korean pop kings didn't water down their style (or language) to conquer America-they just won the audience on their own terms."
Moreover, Sheffield praised the 'Map of the Soul: 7,' claiming that the album is BTS's most complex and personal so far. He also pointed out how the album contains heartfelt confessions from the members.
Sheffield did not forget to mention member Suga's space fantasy 'Interlude: Shadow' as one of the personal songs in the BTS album. But he especially noted member Jin's track entitled 'Moon,' which was the member's display of devotion towards his fans.
Meanwhile, taking on the number one spot on Rolling Stone's list is none other than Taylor Swift's "quarantine" album, Folklore. The American pop star's album has also been nominated for Grammys 2021's Best Album award.
As per Pinkvilla, some of the most notable albums that made it to Rolling Stones' 2020 list are Lady Gaga's Chromatica at No. 11 and Ariana Grande's Positions at No. 22.
Miley Cyrus' Plastic Hearts also made it into the list at No. 23, while Selena Gomez's Rare is at No. 24, Halsey's Manic at No. 25, and The Weeknd's After Hours at No. 32.
