Wednesday Season 2 Korea Visit: Tim Burton and Jenna Ortega Head to Seoul for Netflix DOOM Tour

Netflix's global phenomenon "Wednesday" is making its first-ever visit to Korea this August, bringing director Tim Burton alongside stars Jenna Ortega and Emma Myers to Seoul as part of the worldwide promotional "DOOM Tour."
The cast and creators will visit Seoul on August 10-11, 2025, just days after Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 premieres on Netflix on August 6. This marks a significant milestone for the series, which broke Netflix records with over 1.7 billion viewing hours and became the platform's #1 English-language TV series of all time.
The announcement came through Netflix's social media with the message: "August, Korea is about to get a little cooler. Wednesday's cold shadow will free you from this summer's torment. Wednesday DOOM TOUR, see you soon in Seoul."

The new season premieres in two parts - Part 1 on August 6, 2025, and Part 2 on September 3, 2025. Co-showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar describe Wednesday's journey as "darker and more complex as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old adversaries".
The season centers around Wednesday's efforts to prevent a deadly prophecy threatening her roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers). New cast additions include Steve Buscemi as Principal Barry Dort and confirmed guest star Lady Gaga.
The Korea visit is part of Netflix's international DOOM Tour, which spans England, Poland, Italy, France, Romania, USA, Canada, South Korea, and Australia. The tour concludes in Sydney, Australia, with Wednesday Island on Cockatoo Island on August 16.
This represents Netflix's strategy of bringing major Western productions directly to key international markets, particularly following the global success of Korean content like "Squid Game."
Filming for Season 2 wrapped in December 2024 after beginning in May 2024 in Ireland. The first six minutes of the premiere episode "Here We Woe Again" debuted at Netflix Tudum 2025, showing Wednesday pursuing the Kansas City Scalper serial killer during summer vacation.
The Korea visit reinforces Netflix's commitment to international audience engagement as streaming competition intensifies globally. For Korean fans of the gothic series, these events offer unprecedented access to the creative minds behind one of Netflix's biggest successes.
