BIGBANG's Seungri Addresses His Alleged Connection To Burning Sun Ex-Employee Who Is Under Suspicion For Drug Dealing
BIGBANG Seungri is still under public scrutiny because of his connection to the infamous Burning Sun club. Just recently, a photo of him has been circulating online and it linked him to a former employee of the club who is under investigation for her involvement in the alleged drug dealing at the Burning Sun.
The photo in question shows Seungri and a woman that reports indicate is a Chinese national and known by the nickname "Aena." She is under suspicion of dealing drugs at Burning Sun while working at the club. Apparently, it was Aena who shared the photo of her and Seungri on her social media account in October 2018.
In response, Seungri denied that he knows the woman in the photo. He explained during his press meeting that whenever he is at Burning Sun, there are fans who ask him to have a photo with them. Seungri said he usually grant his fans request and take some snaps with them when he is at the club.
"I was at the club and she asked me for a photo, so I agreed. I don't remember when we took the photo or who she is," Seungri told the press.
Reports also revealed that Aena is one of the two women who sued Kim Sang Kyo for sexual harassment. Kim is the one who accused the security guards of Burning Sun for beating him up when he tried to help a woman who was being sexually harassed at the club. Kim's accusation was followed by more allegations of sexual assault and drug use at the club.
Seungri has already resigned as executive director of Burning Sun and also released an official statement clarifying his position at the club. The K-pop idol stressed that he only served as director of the Gangnam district club. Seungri said he is in charge of promotions but the management and operation of Burning Sun is not in the scope of his job.
The singer has also recently stepped down from his post at his ramen restaurant chain, Aori Ramen. It is believed that Seungri's back-to-back resignation from his positions in his businesses has something to do with his upcoming military enlistment. YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk earlier said Seungri is currently the process of making arrangements on his businesses in preparation for his enlistment this year.
