BTS's Jimin has set the first record in 2019 for his group and he did not just smash just any record but it was Drake's song. Jimin's first self-composed song, "Promise," has been officially declared as the biggest 24-hour debut on SoundCloud.

Jimin dropped his debut self-written song on the online music sharing platform on midnight of December 31. On its first hour, "Promise" recorded 1.84 million streams and many have already anticipated that it will be a huge success for the K-pop artist.

SoundCloud has officially confirmed that the song has reached 8.5 million streams in its first 24 hours on the site, smashing the record that was previously held by Drake. The Canadian singer's took the best first-day debut record with his "Duppy Freestyle" when it was dropped in May 2018. The song raked 4.9 million streams in its first 24 hours after its release.

Now, that record has been broken by Jimin with a huge difference of 3.6 million streams. BTS ARMY couldn't be happier as they congratulate Jimin for his new achievement. Many have said that they are no longer surprised that the K-pop group or its members break a record as they have done it almost every single day last year.

"2019 just started and BTS is already breaking records. You can downvote all u want, it won't change things. BTS is killing it in the real world," one wrote. "'Promise' is such a good song and Jimin's ethereal voice makes it even more heavenly...such ear candy!" another fan stated.

"Promise" was composed by Jimin along with Bit Hit Entertainment producer/songwriter Slow Rabbit. The lyrics of the song were co-written by Jimin and his BTS bandmate RM. The cover photo for the track was provided by BTS member V.

"Promise" also maintained the No. 1 spot on the SoundCloud Top 50 and New & Hot charts for 48 hours. So far, the song has been listened to for more than 15.7 million times.

SoundCloud also released the top five countries that stream the song the most. The K-pop fans who are captivated the most by the song's lyrics and melody are from South Korea, the United States, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Japan.

Jimin's song is currently the second most-listened BTS track on the group's SoundCloud account. V and RM's "4 O'Clock" currently hold the records with 16.2 million streams.
