'The Last Empress' Episodes 21 & 22 Spoilers: Sunny Is Back In The Palace; Emperor Lee Hyuk Appoints Chun Woo Bin As Head Of Security
Empress Sunny is back in the palace but the threat in her life will never stop in the upcoming The Last Empress Episodes 21 and 22. In fact, it could get worst as her enemies are all close by. Meanwhile, Emperor Lee Hyuk appoints Chun Woo Bin as the new head of the palace security. Will he keep Sunny safe from the royal family's plan or will he maintain his cover to keep a good relationship with the Emperor?
In the upcoming episodes of the SBS K-drama, Emperor Lee Hyuk (Shin Sung Rok) will appoint Chun Woo Bin (Choi Jin Hyuk) as the new head of the palace security. Woo Bin and Empress Sunny (Jang Na Ra) will cross path again in the palace. He asks her why she decided to return to the palace. In the teaser, she tells Woo Bin that she will not cause trouble like she used to be.
In the previous episode of The Last Empress, Sunny finally found out that the Emperor doesn't love her when they get married. He only used her as an alibi to cover the crime she committed with Min Yoo Ra (Lee Elijah). The two killed the mother of Na Wang Sik, a.k.a. Chun Woo Bin.
Instead of asking for a divorce and leaving Korea, Sunny reconcile with her husband. She probably already have an idea about the will that Grand Empress Dowager (Park Won Sook) has left which gives her more power.
In the previous episode, the Grand Empress' lawyer read out the last will of the late member of the royal family. It was revealed that she left all her assets to Sunny. However, there is a condition for the will to be executed. The Empress should keep her position in the palace and she should never divorce Lee Hyuk or she will not inherit the assets.
The royal family framed Sunny to the murder of Grand Empress Dowager for her to be ousted of her position. But Ms. Hong (Kim Min Ok), the chief assistant of the Grand Empress, confessed to killing the matriarch of the royal family. She, later on, committed suicide in prison.
Sunny made her move and exposed the audio recording of Emperor Lee Hyuk and Yoo Ra talking about Princess Ari being the child of the Emperor to a household staff. People are upset of the Emperor and has been demanding an explanation of his infidelity to his late wife, Emperor Sohyun, and for cheating on her present wife, Sunny, with his secretary Yoo Ra.
To gain sympathy from the public, Lee Hyuk was advised to do a documentary that will show he is grieving and reflecting on his wrongdoings that ended his marriage. He showed up in the musical play where he proposed to Sunny. But things didn't go as plan when Sunny also appeared in the venue.
She countered her husband declaration about their divorce. Instead, she declares to the public that she forgives her husband and she is willing to raise Princess Ari with him. The Last Empress airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 p.m. KST on SBS.
