'The Walking Dead' Season 9 Spoilers: Fans React To Jon Bernthal's Return With Ridiculous Shane Theories
Big things are coming in The Walking Dead Season 9 despite Andrew Lincoln's upcoming departure. Fans are already aware that Norman Reedus could take over as the lead star of the AMC series. Interestingly, the show is also bringing back Jon Bernthal although the actor's character Shane Walsh has already been killed off in the second season.
Fans are still reeling from the news that Andrew Lincoln is leaving after The Walking Dead Season 9. Some have even been concerned that the upcoming season might be the last for the AMC show since Rick Grimes has been an important part of the series from the start. However, the network might be calling on another character who also paved the way for the series in the beginning. But how exactly will TWD explain the return of Shane Walsh despite his obvious death in Season 2?
There is little doubt that The Walking Dead Season 9 will try to use some of Jon Bernthal's success from his hit series The Punisher. Nevertheless, fans argue that it is impossible for Shane Walsh to still be alive although he was killed, reanimated into a walker before being killed again by Carl Grimes. Not surprisingly, people have come up with ridiculous fan theories on how the show will make things work.
Twitter users have unanimously agreed that Jon Bernthal will be playing Shane Walsh's long-lost twin brother in The Walking Dead Season 9. The only thing they couldn't agree upon is the name of Shane's twin.
I kinda want Bernthal to return as Shane’s estranged twin brother, Shawn. https://t.co/2aOwxdljMr — Widgett Walls (@Widgett) June 19, 2018
I'm Shane's long-lost, until-now-long-forgotten twin brother... BLANE! (DUH DUH DUH) https://t.co/fplMtNuNmI — Ian Lord (@Ian_Lord) June 19, 2018
What if Jon Bernthal is permanently returning to #TheWalkingDead...

One user even suggested a major crossover between Jon Bernthal's Netflix show and the AMC series. This way, it would be easier to accept the possibility that The Walking Dead Season 9 is the final season.
The only reason Shane should return to The Walking Dead is to show up as Punisher and murder everyone to end the show once and for all. — Cody Paysinger (@_cpay) June 19, 2018
AMC has only confirmed that Jon Bernthal will return in one episode of The Walking Dead Season 9. Shane Walsh might appear in one of Rick Grimes' visions before his possible death in the series.
