BTS News: South Korean Boy Band Crowned Top Brand Value Singer For May; BTS In Tight Competition For Next Month
BTS fans will rejoice in the fact that their favorite male idols have achieved something big again, apart from making K-Pop fan swoon. The 7-member boy band also known as Bangtan Boys has reached new heights once again for this month of May, trumping all other South Korean artists and groups.
The said accolade which BTS achieved was none other than bagging the top spot for the brand value of South Korean singers, all singers, in fact, meaning both male and female category. Basically, this means that BTS is now the most celebrated and popular artists in South Korea right now, though that may all change again next month and BTS only has a few more days to enjoy their victory.
This is all according to the data collected by the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation where a total of 89,239,797 pieces of data were examined from April 20 to May 21. Out of all this, BTS had a whopping 9,837,454 dedicated to them. This was followed by Artists Wanna One who had a close 9,352,516 and iKON with 6,350,695. The competition is definitely tight for Wanna One and BTS and for all fans know, they might switch places next month but that remains to be seen.
BTS fans though would find this feat rather unsurprising since the boy band was already headed for greatness the moment they took off with their albums. It can be recalled that they actually took the world by storm and have since been more popular than ever with their fan base growing every day.
Still, the popularity of BTS also means that there is a lot of headroom for other male groups to grow and become equally as popular and catch up with BTS. Right now, male groups are being formed rapidly, some with their own unique styles while others may just be emulating the popular trends introduced by BTS. What this means is a lot more competition in the male group scene of K-Pop.
By comparison, the female K-Pop group scene does not have the same tight competition as BTS does and is actually mostly dominated by Red Velvet due to their recent appearance in North Korea. Red Velvet has even managed to secure three months of consecutive top brand value spots since up until May. Fans only need to wait for who may dethrone BTS next month.
