On February 27, G-Dragon enlisted in the military. With a huge fanbase, the media have been closely following his life in the army. Recent reports alleged that the Kpop idol is now an army instructor assistant following his basic military training.

A representative from the army's press office has released a statement:

"Soldier Kwon Ji Yong has not been considered to become an instructor's assistant of the 3rd infantry division. His final assignment is as a regular soldier in a unit under the 3rd infantry division. He finished his military training completion ceremony today, and he'll be transferred sometime tomorrow," the rep said.

Also recently, the Kpop group member has been receiving a lot of fan mail to the point that the camp where he is has run out of paper. YG Entertainment has already issued a statement to fans to refrain from sending letters.

"G-Dragon is facing difficulties with fans sending too many letters to the unit. Please refrain from sending letters and we will appreciate it."

With the many letters that he is getting, other soldiers can't get theirs.

"Emails have to be printed out on paper to be distributed to the soldiers, but ink and A4 paper in the battalion have run out and G-Dragon feels sorry for his fellow soldiers out there," his agency said.

However, G-Dragon sends his appreciation to the fans who are concerned and who sends him encouragement while at the military. But he urges fans to not send any emails for now so that other soldiers may get their messages from their loved ones.

Following these statements, fans were very cooperative. Some of them even posted on social media to respect G-Dragon's privacy and his current life in the military.

In South Korea, all male citizens between 18 to 35 years old are required to enlist in the military for two years.

G-Dragon will be discharged on November 26, 2019.

For now, all we have to do is wait and wish G-dragon well while he serves his duty to the country.
