The 100 Season 5

The world is changing. After surviving another apocalypse, Clarke (Eliza Taylor) and the remaining humans tased to repopulate the world will have to face new challenges in "The 100" Season 5.

To recall, the past season saw, despite all odds, the human race survive another wave of radiation that threatened to annihilate all signs of life. Fast forward into the future, Clarke has become a mother to Madi, a Nightblood who also survived the second apocalypse.

When "The 100" Season 5 premieres, expect a changed world and a slew of new characters to be introduced. Henry Ian Cusick who plays the role of Marcus Kane previews what fans can look forward to in the next installment of the sci-fi/dystopian teen drama.

"You saw a spaceship land at the end of Season 4, so I'm excited to meet those characters and see who they are and what they bring. I'm getting to read about them just now, so it's interesting to see what happens," he told Collider. "And do we ever get out of that bunker tomb? How did we survive down there? There are some interesting things already happening. The world changes a lot while we're down in that bunker."

The CW already revealed that a new villain, a man aboard a spaceship, will be the upcoming season's big bad. As for the state of the planet following the apocalypse, the viewers will be able to explore the brave new world in Season 5.

He also revealed that the surviving characters will change not only in their appearances (and appear six-ear-older), but fans will also see Marcus, Clarke and the rest of the cast mature emotionally. Where they were at the time of the apocalypse - whether inside the bunker tomb or in space - is going to affect the personalities of each character.

In a previous interview with Hidden Remote, show creator Jason Rothenberg revealed that "The 100" Season 5 will also feature flashbacks to the past six years. While a long time has already passed since the events of the fourth season finale, viewers will be able to see major challenges that vastly affected their favorite characters.

In addition, he warned that not everyone has survived. "The 100" Season 5 will premiere sometime in 2018 on The CW.
