Kyuhyun Shares Photo of His Buzz Hair Cut; Bids Fans Farewell as He Enters Military Service
Super Junior maknae Kyuhyun official reported for the start of his two-year mandatory service yesterday and was greeted by his fans who waited outside the gates of Nonsan Military Training Center to see him off. Fans held placards that encouraged him to concentrate on his civic duty and assured him that they will wait for him until he gets back.
According to a report by Soompi, Kyuhyun's fans came not only from Korea but all over the world. Distance did not seem like an issue for them to show how much Kyuhyun meant to them.
Kyuhyun's fans had messages that said: "We have your music, we will be okay," while some had to hold back tears at the thought that they will be parted from their idol for two solid years. In his personal tweet before enlisting, Kyuhyun posted a photo of himself sporting the requisite buzz cut.
I'm not used to this. Let's not be sick or cry but let's be well," Kyuhyun said to his fans. "Please be with my music so that it won't be lonely."
Super Junior member Yesung, who recently completed his own stint in mandatory service, also rallied their youngest member to do well during his enlistment. He posted a photo of himself being sweet with their maknae on his Twitter and captioned it with a message that indicated his enlistment.
Korea Portal reported that prior to his enlistment, Kyuhyun gifted his fans with a meaningful gift by releasing his single "Goodbye for Now" on the eve of his enlistment. The song was made available in three versions - Korean, Japanese and Chinese as his message to his supporters. He also held one final fan meeting before his enlistment which allowed him to properly say farewell to his loyal fans. Kyuhyun will complete a four-week training at Nonsan before he is deployed as a social service worker.
