iKON Drops Comeback Album; 'Bling Bling' , 'B-Day' Reach 2 Million Views In 24 Hours
After a long wait, fans of iKON celebrated with a double treat as the K-pop group dropped both tracks of their comeback album "New Kids: BEGIN". iKON unleashed their "Bling Bling" and "B-Day" MVs to the collective amazement of iKONIC, their official fandom who are raving about the videos on its youtube thread.
Based on their official youtube posts, iKON's "Bling Bling" reached 2 million views in a span of just 11 hours will "B-Day" trailing quickly and also rose to 2 million views. Fans were quite impressed not just with the sound but the quality and style of the videos which highlighted iKON's strong choreography with a heavy hip hop vibe.
iKON's new tracks carry with them a very personal style since both songs were written by members B.I and Bobby, in collaboration with talented producers like Millenium, AiRPLAY and Kang Uk JIn, according to YG Life. Prior to the release of "New Kids: BEGIN", Bobby and B.I. also collaborated with their idol and fellow YG artist PSY for the track "BOMB" which was a featured track on his "4 x 2 = 8" album.
Aside from the hot new tracks, YG Entertainment also has another surprise in store for IKONICs. The label announced that four of iKON's members will be using new stage names.
According to a report by Soompi, Bobby, B.I. and Ju-Ne will retain their original stage names but there will be some changes in the name of the remaining members. Jinhwan will now go by Jay, while Chanwoo will be known simply as Chan. Donghyuk will go by the nickname DK while Yunghyeong will now use his family name of Song.
While the development shocked many loyal supporters of iKON, it is believed that the new stage names is part of a repackaging concept related to the boys' comeback album "New Kids: BEGIN." Since their debut in 2015, iKON has been enjoying a relatively successful career mostly in Korea and Japan where they are slated to have the second leg of their Japan Dome Tour in June.
