American’s CIA Director Visit Seoul, Tension Continues in The Korean Peninsula Donald Trump Demands For THAAD Compensation?

America's CIA Director Mike Pompeo has made an unannounced visit to South Korea the US Embassy in Seoul confirmed his presence on Monday. The US Embassy officially announced the Mike Pompeo and his wife were in Seoul on Monday night, but the Embassy didn't clarify for how long. The Embassy has maintained anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media in such high tension.

According to TIME, South Korean media reports stated that the CIA Director Mike Pompeo arrived in South Korea over the weekend for meetings with the head of South Korea's National Intelligence Service and high-level officials in the presidential office. Although the US officials would not confirm any meetings expect meetings with the US Forces in Korea and the US Embassy. The unannounced visit came into light after the unsuccessful missile test conducted by North Korea on Saturday.

On the other hand, Japanese media reports said it will meet up with and escort a US supply ship the first-time mission under new security legislation. As reported in TIME, they said the US Ship is expected to refuel to other American warships which might include USS Carl Vinson carrier strike group. The Japanese helicopter carrier was departed from Yokosuka port South of Tokyo in the morning.

Besides in Australia, the Prime Minister Malcom Turnbull used a commemoration of a World War 2 naval battle that has warned North Korea against destabilizing the region. The US and Australia continue to work with their allies to point out new security threats around the world, the Prime Minister stated. The Prime Minister of Australia is about to meet American President Donald Trump for the first time in New York this Thursday.

A new report from NDTV added that Mike Pompeo will also present his views on Seoul-Washington ties after the Presidential election happening on May 9. The North Korean missile test has created a lot of friction between the US and South Korea as Trump suggested in a recent interview that South Korea should pay for the deployment of THAAD anti-missile system.
