'Game Of Thrones' Season 7 Spoilers: Ed Sheeran Confirms Cameo; Sam Tarley To Play Pivotal Role In Battle Against White Walkers

Ed Sheeran has confirmed that he will have a cameo in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 when the series returns for its penultimate season this July 16. The singer teased that his character will have a very brief scene with Maisie Williams' Arya.

"I just do a scene with Maisie," Ed Sheeran said in a report by IGN. "I sing a song and then she goes, 'Oh, that's a nice song"."Game of Thrones" is no stranger to featuring famous musical acts as cameos in previous seasons. It can be recalled that Coldplay's Will Champion, Animal Circus's Joel Fry, and members Mastodon also had fun appearing on the show in bit parts.

Meanwhile, actor John Bradley, who plays Sam Tarley in "Game of Thrones" dropped a significant hint about the evolution of his character in the upcoming season. As the battle heats up for the Iron Throne and a major threat looms beyond the Wall, it would seem that Westeros will have more than it bargained for in "Game of Thrones" Season 7, Winter is Coming reported.

"The thing about Sam is, if he's still around at this stage, you do suspect that there is gonna be a point to keeping him around," Bradley said about his character. This sparked curiosity about what role his character would play in the Battle of the Seven Kingdoms for "Game of Thrones" Season 7.

Last season of "Game of Thrones," Night's Watch Lord Commander Jon Snow sent Sam to train as a maester. Aside from his knowledge about Westeros history by working under the maesters, Sam was also one of the few members of the Night's Watch to ever come up close and kill a White Walker. It would be interesting his new knowledge and his experiences with White Walkers will help his good friend Jon Snow in his eventual face off with the Night King.
