The nine-member group makes history with Chicago festival slot while preparing exclusive pre-listening sessions for fourth studio album

K-pop powerhouse TWICE is making headlines with a groundbreaking announcement: they'll become the first female K-pop group to headline Lollapalooza Chicago. The historic performance coincides with their highly anticipated comeback album "THIS IS FOR," arriving this July after a four-year gap.

Three days before their official July 11 release, TWICE will treat fans to an intimate preview experience. The group has scheduled eight special listening sessions on July 8 at a Seoul venue in Seongdong-gu, starting at 11 AM. These aren't typical promotional events-fans will hear the new title track early and enjoy interactive content designed specifically for the occasion.

The final session promises something extra special: all nine members will personally appear to discuss their new music with attendees. It's the kind of direct fan engagement that has made TWICE one of the most beloved acts in K-pop.

TWICE's Lollapalooza appearance from July 31 to August 3 marks a significant milestone-no female K-pop group has ever headlined the prestigious Chicago festival. They'll share the main stage with major artists including Olivia Rodrigo, Tyler the Creator, and Sabrina Carpenter.

This booking reflects K-pop's growing mainstream acceptance in America. Previous years featured groups like Stray Kids and Tomorrow X Together, but TWICE's headliner status represents a new level of recognition for girl groups in the genre.

The album drops July 11 at 1 PM KST, marking TWICE's first Korean studio release since 2021's "Formula of Love: O+T=<3". That nearly four-year gap makes this one of the most anticipated K-pop comebacks of 2025.

The 14-track collection includes the title song "THIS IS FOR" plus tracks like "FOUR," "OPTIONS," "MARS," "RIGHT HAND GIRL," and "PEACH GELATO". The album title cleverly plays on this being their fourth full studio album while celebrating their continued evolution as artists.

The album release kicks off TWICE's sixth world tour, also named "THIS IS FOR." Opening nights are set for July 19-20 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, featuring 360-degree staging that removes traditional barriers between performers and audience.

The tour's first leg includes Japan dome shows in Osaka, Aichi, Fukuoka, and Tokyo, followed by performances across Asia and Australia in cities like Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, and Bangkok. Additional dates for Europe and the Americas are expected to be announced.

Since debuting in 2015 through JYP Entertainment's "Sixteen" survival show, TWICE has consistently pushed boundaries for girl groups. Their combination of catchy pop hooks, synchronized choreography, and strong visual concepts earned them the title "The Nation's Girl Group" in South Korea.

The Lollapalooza booking and sold-out tour dates demonstrate their sustained global appeal. When tickets for their Incheon concerts went on sale June 25, they sold out immediately-a testament to the massive anticipation surrounding their return.

This comeback positions TWICE at a crucial moment in their career. After nearly a decade in the industry, they're proving that K-pop girl groups can achieve the same international recognition as their male counterparts, breaking new ground for future artists.

More information about the pre-listening event and tour dates can be found on TWICE's official social media channels.
