'Vikings' Season 5 Spoilers: Harald To Dethrone Lagertha From Kattegat Rule; Rollo Returns For Explosive Runion With Viking Family
Will Lagertha perish by the hands of King Harald when History's "Vikings" Season 5 reveals the next chapter of the story? Rumors are rife that new queen of Kattegat may be facing threats to her rule when the show returns.
Reports have it that Harald will become the biggest threats to Lagertha's reign because of his insatiable greed and thirst for power. Harald Finehair will reportedly attacking Kattegat in the early episodes of "Vikings" Season 5 and will be dethroning Lagertha as a result. Being the strong queen that she is, Lagertha is expected to fight tooth and nail for the people so it is unsure if she will survive the battle.
An earlier report by Korea Portal also hinted that Lagertha may also be in danger from one of Ragnar's sons, Ivar the Boneless who may seek to avenge the death of his mother by Lagertha's hands. In "Vikings " Season 4, Ivar has already shown the audience a glimpse of his dark side when he rallied to pillage more lands after the death of King Ecbert, as well as his mean temper when he accidentally killed his own brother Sigurd in the heat of an argument. This trait is expected to grow even worse in "Vikings" Season 5.
Based on a report from Den of Geek, Kathryn Winnick, who plays the role of Lagertha, teased that "Vikings" Season 5 may see the dawning of a new king. In a post, Winnick proudly shared that she and her two brother starred in a scene together for the History show, but it was the hashtags that drew the fans' attention. One of the hashtags read King Angantyr, which immediately piqued fans' attention. Angantyr, like Harald are both based on historical figures and are key figures in the brewing world war.
Clive Standen, who plays Rollo will also be surprising fans when his character returns for "Vikings" Season 5 returns. In an interview with TVLine, the actor hinted that all bets will be off when Rollo and his Viking kin meet for an explosive reunion.
