'Game Of Thrones' Season 7 Spoilers: Epic Showdown Brewing Among Lannisters, Targaryen & Starks As Whitewalker Threat Looms
All the bad blood that has been brewing in the past six seasons of HBO's "Game of Thrones" will finally come to a head in "Game of Thrones" Season 7. The recently released teaser hints that there will be an epic showdown between the three primary contenders for the Iron Throne - Cersei Lannister, Daenerys Targaryen, and Jon Snow.
It can be recalled at the end of "Game of Thrones" Season 6 that Cersei was crowned the queen of Westeros after she managed to outmaneuver her foes by eliminating them all by blowing up the Sept on the day of her trial. Jon Snow emerged victorious against Ramsey Bolton and regained control of Winterfell for the Starks in the epic Battle of the Bastards. Daenerys Targaryen was able to rally the Dothraki and finally free Mereen from the control of the Masters once and for all before setting out for Westeros aided by the Greyjoys.
Based on the trailer entitled "Long Walk," Cersei is seen walking towards the Iron Throne. Daenerys can also be seen headed towards her own throne presumably in Dragonstone. Jon Snow, finally walks the halls of Winterfell to be seated in Ned Stark's former place at the head of the home. At the end of the clip, Cersei exhales some frost indicating that Winter has come and reached King's Landing. True enough, the following shot was that of the menacing Night King, Vanity Fair reported.
A grudge match can be expected among the contenders for the throne in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 but while Jon Snow would want to exact his revenge against Cersei for the death of his family members, it may seem that the more pressing issue at hand is the looming attack of the Whitewalkers from beyond the wall. Out of all the characters, it was only Jon Snow and the Night's Watch who have seen for themselves what the Whitewalkers are capable of and understand the threat that they pose for the seven kingdoms.
Cersei may not be too quick to abandon her throne after all in "Game of Thrones" Season 7 since she has risked a lot to finally become queen, including losing her beloved children Joffrey, Myrcella, and Tommen. Newly minted villain Euron Greyjoy may join forces with her to crush his niece and nephew Yara and Theon, who threaten his own claim to his throne in the Iron Islands, MTV News reported.
Pilou Asbæk, who plays Euron said that "Game of Thrones" holds a lot of things to make him "good satisfied." He, however, refused to share more except say that his character will definitely be one of the meanest villains in the series.
