T-ara's supposed comeback album ominously dubbed as their "666 Project" has just become their last album together. The girl group finally called it quits after members Boram and Soyeon decided not to renew their contracts with their management label MBK Entertainment. Their disbandment comes on the heels of renewed attention on the infamous controversy surrounding discord and bullying among the members.

According to Soompi, MBK Entertainment clarified Thursday that T-ara's Boram and Soyeon decided not to renew their contracts before the contracts expired May 15. The other members Qri, Eunjung, Hyomin and Jiyeon have extended their contracts until December and will be focusing on solo activities. Qri will be promoting solo, Hyomin will promote overseas, Eunjung will appear in dramas and Jiyeon had already announced her solo album.

Before T-ara comes to an end, however, the members will release their final album slated to be released May 17. According to allkpop, the girl group's agency announced Monday that the upcoming album is a "666 Project." MBK Entertainment stated, "6 members, 6 songs, and a 6-minute medley. We look forward to much support for T-ara's final album before they disband."

Netizens reacted negatively on the emphasis of the number 6 and how 666 is widely regarded as the devil's number. One netizen considered the project to be a "devil's child" and how T-ara is "always being sacrificed as an offering." Another even asked if the label is "trying to put a curse or something" while others just considered naming the project 666 to be "too much."

T-ara made their debut as a five-member group in 2009. They achieved breakthrough success in South Korea and Japan in 2011 with their smash hit "Roly Poly" and their third mini-album "Black Eyes." Their popularity began to dip the following year after rumors of infighting and severe bullying haunted the group that even led some members to quit T-ara.
