‘Supergirl,’ The Flash’ Crossover Spoilers: Iris’ Arc Central To Story Of Upcoming Musical Episode

Avid viewers of the CW superhero TV series "Supergirl" and "The Flash" have been looking forward to the upcoming crossover episode that will feature Kara (Melissa Benoist) and Barry (Grant Gustin) singing their hearts out. Latest spoiler news teased of another character whose story will play an important role in the said musical episode.

For the first time in the history of the CW series "Supergirl" and "The Flash," viewers will see beloved characters expressing some of their thoughts in a musical format. Avid fans can expect to hear the titular heroine Kara belt out in song with Central City's scarlet speedster Barry responding in kind.

Details of the upcoming "Supergirl" and "The Flash" musical crossover may be sparse, however, showrunner Aaron Helbing recently revealed an interesting information about the said episode. In an interview with TVLine, he shared that Iris' (Candice Patton) story will be one of the crossover episode's focal points.

Helbing even described Iris' role in the upcoming musical episodes as "key" and that the said crossover's story "really centers" on the said character. The showrunner did not disclose other details about the Iris-centric musical episode. However, speculations pointed to the storyline having something to do with Iris and Barry's quest to change the former's impending death.

Moreover, avid fans will soon see Kara and Barry's camaraderie on the small screen as the two friends join forces once again to defeat an enemy. With the arrival of the Music Meister (Darren Criss) first in "Supergirl," viewers can then expect to see more of the said villain in Barry's Central's City.

In other news, one of the songs that will be featured in the upcoming "Supergirl" and "The Flash" musical crossover would be a composition from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Famous for writing the songs for the Oscar-nominated film "La La Land," the duo penned the track titled "Running Home to You" that will be sung by former "Glee" guest star Gustin, according to Collider.

The "Supergirl" musical episode will be released on March 20, Monday. Meanwhile, "The Flash" musical will air on March 21, Tuesday on the CW.
